is excited to be the on-site faculty lead on the program. “This is a great opportunity for students who are curious but possibly nervous about studying abroad,” says McNamara. “Housing and food are simple; students pay their regular Willamette tuition with their regular financial aid package; and they will go with a dynamic group of students from across the consortium schools.”
McNamara shares that the semester will allow students to both study at an incredible design school and experience Mexican culture. “They'll be enrolled in a Mexican culture class, and day trips to other cities, such as Mexico City and Oaxaca, will be offered.” Students do not have to speak Spanish but will have an opportunity to learn and practice the language if they like.
Students can easily take advantage of this study abroad program: They will earn Willamette credit and pay Willamette tuition, and they can use all of their existing scholarships and grants. In addition, PNCA students can apply for an additional study abroad scholarship worth up to $5,000. Classes will be available in both Spanish and English, and secure on-campus furnished dorms (with exercise rooms/gyms) will be provided. Parents will be happy to learn that the program includes 24-hour access to medical and mental health services.
