Class members in Media and the Environment (now Communicating Environmental and Climate Justice) conducted radio interviews and generated podcast reports for KMUZ community radio. These productions contributed to the former Worldviews Wednesday program, which focused on "Communicating a Just, Equitable, and Sustainable Salem-Keizer Community." Class members engaged local community members on topics ranging from food justice to recovery discourses in post-disaster contexts.
Class members in Latina/o/x Communication Studies have welcomed various guest speakers, including a visit from . Following Palomo's performance, class members facilitated a panel on local migrant justice organizing and shared their zines on a variety of topics, including Latinx popular music, white allyship, and the role of machismo in shaping different diets.
